In a press Conference announcing that PAS not joining UMNO/BN, strange indeed that no PAS leaders were present

I think something is just not right in Pakatan since the 24 December 2010 meeting between DS Najib, TS Muhyiddin and Tok Guru Nik Aziz and Tok Guru Hj Hadi in the presence of the DYMM YDP Agung. Read the MI headline here:

PAS assures Pakatan it will not join Umno

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 13 — PAS moved to reassure its Pakatan Rakyat (PR) partners today that it had no plans for political co-operation with Umno despite speculation that arose following a private Christmas Eve dinner last year.

PR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim told a press conference this evening that PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang had explained the incident during the pact’s leadership council meeting at the PAS headquarters here today.

“We are satisfied with the explanation. Like what (PAS spiritual leader Datuk) Nik Aziz (Nik Mat) has said before, they (PAS) are committed to PR.

“There is no need for us to raise this issue again or doubt them,” he said.

DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang joined his PR comrade in declaring that the matter should be laid to rest, noting that he too was satisfied with Hadi’s explanation.

“We have received an explanation from the PAS president and we are satisfied that PAS is committed to PR and they will continue with our struggles to achieve the same agenda,” he said. Read the rest of the strange story here.

Why strange? Well in the above Press Conference which was held jointly by Anwar Ibrahim and Lim Kit Siang to announce that PAS has no intention to join UMNO/BN, isn't it strange that none of the PAS Leaders were present?

One would have thought that to show some semblance of credibility and unity at least Tok Guru Hj Hadi himself had been invited to the press conference to announce it himself. I do not remember anything about Anwar and Lim being appointed as PAS spokesman on its party policy. Hmmm...the mind boggles.
