Washington USA..Najib's the man now, hasta la vista Anwar

Continuing from my post Anwar the Chameleon Again, it seems that the attacks on Anwar continues unabated with probably more revelations coming from Washington:

1. Report Exposes Irregularities of Obscure State Department-Funded Organization
by Dylan Blaylock on July 08, 2010 (The Whistleblogger/2010)
- Anwar's name was specially mentioned in this paper being ex Chairman of FFF-Foundation For the Future.

2. Even the Asia Sentinel which is usually Pro Anwar is joining the lynching mob - Anwar Ibrahim and the Bush Neocons.

Other bloggers such as Rocky Bru, Outsyedthebox, Hantulautan and many other notables have highlighted the Anwar issue.

My take is and I've commented about it on Bro
Hantulautan's blog:

Malaysia is an important strategic ally of the US having its coast straddling the whole length of the Straits of Melaka which is one of the world's most busiest sea lane. The strait is the main shipping channel between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, linking major Asian economies such as India, China, Japan and South Korea. Over 50,000 vessels pass through the strait per year, carrying about one-quarter of the world's traded goods. About a quarter of all oil carried by sea passes through the strait, mainly from Persian Gulf suppliers to Asian markets such as China, Japan, and South Korea. In 2006, an estimated 15 million barrels per day (2,400,000 m3/d) were transported through the strait. It is therefore of utmost importance for the Americans that they have a friendly leader in Malaysia who are willing to engage with them.

During Dr Mahathir's time as Malaysia's Prime Minister he was not too friendly with the Americans and hence Anwar Ibrahim managed to fill that vacuum. After Dr Mahathir retired, PM Abdullah Badawi also failed(as usual) to be on friendly terms with the United States as Anwar and his supporters had the ears of Bush and his neocons friends then.

I think when Obama became President things started to change, the Neocons in Washington lost their influence and when Najib became Prime Minister and took the extra mile to get friendly with the USA he then managed to meet with US President Obama and finally after a long wait, the US found a PM of Malaysia who wants to have friendly and good relations with the good old USA.

So to cut a long story short Anwar got dumped, he made things worse for himself when he disparaged APCO who he knew was doing a lot of fantastic PR work for Najib and the Malaysian Government in Washington. In disparaging the Government/APCO relationship, he took cheap shots at the Jews, very bad and fatal mistake, the Jews controls the Press and have very strong political lobby groups in the US and it looks like downhill for Anwar now despite his apology/kow tow tour last June.

I believed that Anwar's fate in his relationship with the US, was sealed when President Obama smiled at Prime Minister Najib when they shook hands in Washington recently. The USA now have a Malaysian PM who is US friendly and that is a good thing for us Malaysian as well, why make enemies with the most powerful nation the civilised world has ever known.

Plainly its just business for the US, its nothing personal...hasta la vista Anwar.
