Chief Secretary says Penang CM’s accusations excessive

July 21, 2010

KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 — Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan today defended Penang State Development Officer Nik Ali Mat Yunus and described the allegations by Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng against Nik Ali as excessive and should not have been made in the open.

Mohd Sidek, who is also the Cabinet Secretary, said the Cabinet at its meeting today took a serious view on Lim’’s statement against Nik Ali particularly on the issue over illegal sand mining in Balik Pulau, demolition of the arches at the Penang Botanical Garden and the allegation that no seat was

provided for the Penang Chief Minister during the launch of the Penang Hill Railway.

“These three issues, for which Nik Ali was blamed by the Penang Chief Minister, were not under the jurisdiction of the officer as the State Development Officer,” Mohd Sidek said in his brief statement, here today.

He said the Penang Chief Minister should follow the correct procedure by channelling complaints on these issues to the relevant department/agency.

Previous press reports stated that the rift between Lim and Nik Ali emerged when the Chief Minister was alleged to have made several statements criticising the officer.

Among other things, Lim had labelled Nik Ali as “incompetent, useless, unprofessional and a coward” and that he should be sacked with regard to the issue on the illegal sand mining in Balik Pulau. — Bernama

Penang UMNO finally found their voice read it here.

Original Post:
DAP politicians are most sensitive people when it comes to name calling isn't it, they are however not shy about calling other people including the Prime Minister, other Ministers even Government institutions like the PDRM,MACC or any other agencies or NGOs they do not like with all sorts of names, some really disparaging.

This one is bound to happen, the tiff between DAP's head honcho Lim Kit Siang's son, Lim Guan Eng, the Melaka boy made Chief Minister of Penang who was called rude by the Federal Civil Servant in response to him being called a Little Napoleon and being asked to resign. Read the story here from theStar - Penang SDO loses his cool and lambast Lim over criticisms.

Well as I have said when one of their own is being called not so nice names and this here we are talking about the famous CM of Penang son of the Leader and his anointed DAP Crown Prince, obviously all hell will break loss read it here:

Kit Siang wants Cabinet to act against federal officer

'Get lost from Penang', Jeff Ooi tells federal officer

Senators urge Chief Secretary to intervene in Penang

I am not going into the merits or demerits of the SDO for calling Guan Eng rude, he will have his reasons and so does Guan Eng for doing what they did.

I must say that Guan Eng should protect the sanctity of the Office of the Chief Minister of Penang from descending into a free for all brawl with Civil Servants. The CM like other MBs has a duty of care to ensure that there is mutual respect between the State Administration elected every five years with the Civil Servants(State or Federal) who are really the ones who makes the Government Machinery works.

Lim Kit Siang and Jeff Ooi please stop these nonsense lah, people who live in glass houses should not throw stones at others. PM Najib and former PM Dr Mahathir has been called worse, all sorts of disparaging and derogatory names lah and did you ever heard them complaining, they were elected by the majority to serve Malaysians too..these are real politicians they are no cry babies that's for sure.

If politicians who become Executives of a state cannot be called names then they should not be politicians, if you can't stand the heat do not stay in the kitchen and find some other job. Jeff Ooi can go back to KL and Guan Eng can balik kampung to Melaka. Many DAP members real sons of Penang will be happy, of that I am sure.

Yikes! The battle slogan used to be freedom, transparency, no dictators and all that crap.

But look who's indulgence and hobby it is now.

It is like spitting to the sky or a dog eating it's own vomit.

A GOOD MAN DOES NOTHING.
