A demonstration against Anwar Ibrahim outside his home?

Something unbelievable but true happened yesterday, Anwar Ibrahim having a taste of his own medicine:


Hindraf supporters hold candlelight vigil outside Anwar’s home


KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 9 — Some 20 supporters of the outlawed Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) movement held a candlelight vigil outside Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s home in Segambut here tonight as a mark of protest over his Pakatan coalition’s unkept promises to the Indian community following its gains in the 2008 general election (GE).


Sentul police chief ACP Zakaria Pagan said they gathered there at 8.50pm and dispersed about 15 minutes later on the orders of the police.


“The gathering did not have a permit. However, we did not detain anyone as no trouble was caused and they dispersed peacefully when ordered by police,” he said when contacted by Bernama.

Other than the demonstration and the ongoing sodomy trial that he is facing, there are already vocal calls for him to retire from politics:



Asri minta Anwar bersara, Pakatan perlu jadi pembangkang kualiti

KUALA LUMPUR, 1 Nov — Prof Madya Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin menasihatkan ahli politik veteran termasuk Ketua Umum Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim agar bersara dari politik dan memberi laluan kepada pemimpin-pemimpin lain untuk memberi “nafas baru” atas alasan banyak “rentak tari politiknya makin tidak seimbang.”
Di samping itu kata beliau, Pakatan Rakyat juga perlu melakukan pembaharuan untuk menjadi pembangkang yang kuat dan berkualiti.
“Di samping menghormati sumbangan, saya rasa Ketua Pembangkang Datuk Seri Anwar, sudah sampai masanya untuk bersara ‘politik’,” kata bekas mufti Perlis ini yang kini dilihat sebagai “penggerak ketiga” dalam arena politik semasa.
“Sudah banyak rentak tari politiknya yang makin tidak ‘seimbang’,” kata beliau dalam satu kenyataan dikeluarkan hari ini.

Zaid blames Anwar and Azmin, wants them out

PETALING JAYA, Nov 9 — Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, who caused a stir yesterday by withdrawing from the PKR deputy president’s race, now wants Azmin Ali and Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to vacate their leadership of the party.


In a packed press conference at his home here this morning, the former Umno minister blamed both Azmin and Anwar for all allegations of election fraud and malpractices plaguing the party’s ongoing elections.


“I would like to say, if PKR wants to move, Anwar and Azmin must go... because they are the source of the problem.
