KUALA LUMPUR: Child genius Adi Putra Abdul Ghani, 12, a mathematician, has released his first book titled "Seni Matematik Islam" in conjunction with Pesta Pameran Buku Antarabangsa 2011 here.

Since going on sale last week, 3,000 books have been sold at RM40 while Adi Putra hopes to publish the book in four languages - English, German, French and Mandarin, he told reporters after the book's official launch today.

Adi Putra whose ambition is to become Professor in mathematics said the book contains 247 pages and 12 of the 235 mathematic formulas were his own invention.

"I took a month to write the book. The mathematics formulas that I have created are easy to understand, both for kids and adults. When everyone knows the easy way to learn mathematics, they will become interested and later become proficient," he said.

Adi Putra, an expert in Algebra, Trigonometry and Indices that even teachers were said to refer to him when faced with mathematical problems, has received numerous awards like Mathematics icon from Jabatan Matematik Jabatan Pertanian Malaysia 2006, Tokoh Matematik Islam this century from Universiti Riau,Indonesia in 2009.
