Anwar's surprise unsworn statement in court is merely a tirade, will the Judge be impressed?

To recap the long sodomy trial, Anwar Ibrahim is being charged under Section 377B of the Malaysian Penal Code:

Carnal intercourse against the order of nature

377A. Any person who has sexual connection with another person
by the introduction of the penis into the anus or mouth of the other
person is said to commit carnal intercourse against the order of nature.

Explanation—Penetration is sufficient to constitute the sexual connection necessary to the offence described in this section.

Punishment for committing carnal intercourse against the orderof nature

377B. Whoever voluntarily commits carnal intercourse against
the order of nature shall be punished with imprisonment for a term
which may extend to twenty years, and shall also be liable to whipping."

Finally Anwar Ibrahim's D-Day where he had to make his defence on the charge of sodomy with his former assistant came this morning. He had however chosen to make his defence in an unsworn statement reading a 32 page prepared text consisting basically of  tirades against the Judge, the Judiciary, TheProsecutor, PM Najib, the Government, The BN, UMNO, Dr. Mahathir and family well just about everything and I fear  if he can blame the weather he would have probably done so. 

Why he chose to give a unsworn statement that will not be given weight by the Court and not subjected to a cross examination is not hard to see if you have time to read the prepared text of his "speech" read here. Notice Anwar does not offer any alibi to where he is at the time of the alleged sodomy. Anyway the trial is ongoing and let us see what more "surprise tactics" Anwar's defense team have in store for the Judge and Prosecution. The main thing now is that the Judge is not allowing any more delays to the trial. 

The defence also said that they have sent subpoenas to PM Najib, Rosmah, former IGP Musa Hassan don't know what good it will do unless they can confirm Anwar was with them when the alleged sodomy occurred though.
