We must be wary of any funding by Soros to local organisations

Some in Malaysia say that any foreign fund for organisations in Malaysia  if not against the law is OK (well some people are naive aren't they) anyway a Minister in our Cabinet also agreed so long as the fund is not used against the Gomen or perhaps matters of National security I presume.

I would agree with what the Minister say but we have to be wary of funding from people or organisation overseas which have a track record of destabilising Governments all over the world. One such individual is Soros and his foundation which was found to have given money to rabidly anti BN Gomen internet portal Malaysiakini and of course SUARAM which have been making much empty noise about the Scorpene deal:

Read the full article in Forbes here
You see even the US Gomen is very worried about Soros's ventures overseas as people may equate it with the US's own foreign policy. There are already backlashes against Soros's foreign policy which is causing harm to the very stability of Governments in Central Asia and Eastern Europe, and by the way the SUARAM and Malaysiakini is going after the Gomen, one wonders if the funding by Soros has a hand in all these non constructive criticism against the current Malaysian Government by the organisations funded by Soros or his funding vehicle.

Well if anybody think that Soros is a nice fella, its your choice but when asked whether he felt responsible for his role in the 1997 East Asian currency crash, Soros famously responded: "As a market participant, I don't need to be concerned with the consequences of my actions". This man has a heart of stone.

You know this guy and his gang of currency speculators made many Asians poor and destitute during the 1997 crash and he does not give two hoots about what he had done. He is now back in Asia after 15 years, not to help spread democracy but to spread political instability, damned we are a freer democratic country than many so called democratic countries on this planet.

I say we must have the Foreign Agent Registration Act enacted to supervise the political activities of many organisations in Malaysia who are funded by foreigners,  especially for those like Soros's who make no bones about interfering in other countries' domestic affairs.

Dong Zong is back in the news with same old demands, but why?

Anybody who reads this blog would by now know that I consider the Dong Zong as an extremist organisation who will disturb the delicate harmony of this multiracial country if they are not supervised by the Gomen.

There seemed to be no end to their demands, and they are getting bolder even doing a demo near Parliament yesterday and  they are still insisting that any Non-Mandarin speaking teachers be transferred out of the SJKCs never mind that these teachers could even be a Chinese who can't speak Mandarin, lets not even begin to talk about the Malay or Indian teachers who teaches BM or English in the vernacular schools.

I think these extremists should open their eyes and have a look around them, they cannot live in a vacuum forever, the demographics of this blessed country are changing and changing fast.

Here is a good view from Utusan that the Dong Zong extremists should read, though I do not think they would be tolerant of the view of others different from their extremist views:

It is time for FARA to come to our shores

I think enough talking, its about time that the Gomen get up and take notice of foreign funding for our so called NGOs.

First we listen to what the "learned" opposition centric Bar Council President has to say:

Malaysian Bar president Lim Chee Wee said there was nothing wrong to receive funding from abroad.

Malaysia government, he pointed out, had received foreign funding before and Malaysian individuals as well as organisations had also given money abroad.

"So long, it complies with the law of the country. It is as simple as that.

"Today, there is no legislation prohibits foreign funding...there is nothing sinister about foreign funding," he said at the launch of the 2012 Malaysia International Law Conference today.
Read the rest here.

Blogger Hantu Laut gave Chee Wee the somewhat naive Bar President a scolding:

The Bar Council chief Lim Chee Wee again made a fool of himself by saying there is nothing sinister about foreign funding. How would he know.

As a lawyer it would be better for him to confine himself to matters of law.

Just like they don't teach you the pitfalls of the business world in business schools, they also don't teach you the academic of espionage, covert operations and regime change in law schools.

I do agree not all foreign funding have bad intention but accepting their formal benefaction leaves you open to be a cat's paw when the benefactor decide to call on your gratitude.

Here is a comment from The Star:

Pussy Riot and our foreign-funded NGOs

ALONG THE WATCHTOWER
By M. VEERA PANDIYAN

excerpts:

"Imagine the repercussions if such a group entered a mosque, church, or a Hindu or Buddhist temple in Malaysia to similarly “express their freedom”.
People who commit such acts in the US or in most European countries would also be arrested, charged and jailed, so what’s the big deal about these women?
For one thing, they seem to have powerful backers, in the form of the US National Endowment for Democracy.
Yes, the same entity supporting Bersih and Suaram, which is now being probed over its sources of foreign funding.
According to conspirazzi.com, Pussy Riot and Voina have open links to the NED through Oksana Chelysheva, who is deputy executive director of the Russian-Chechen Friendship Society funded by the NED and George Soros-funded outfits.
The NED was created in 1983, seemingly as a non-profit-making organisation to promote human rights and democracy but as its first president Allen Weinstein admitted to The Washington Post in 1991, a lot of what it does overtly used to be done covertly by the CIA.
In the words of ex-CIA officer Ralph McGeehee, it subsidises and influences elections, political parties, think tanks, academia, publishers, media and labour, religious, women’s and youth groups.
Russia has since introduced a new Bill to label NGOs that get foreign funds and are involved in politics as “foreign agents”, with their accounts subject to public scrutiny.
Paul Craig Roberts, a former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, says the US, too, has laws which require foreign interests to register as foreign agents but this does not always apply to all Israeli lobby groups.
“There are no political parties in the US that are funded by foreign interests. No such thing would be permitted. It would be regarded as high treason,” he was quoted as saying by Pravda.
So, if outsiders are not allowed to fund and interfere in US politics, why should we allow its agencies to meddle in ours?"

Blogger Outsyedthebox has a wonderful idea:

I don't know about Hisham ever waking up though [actually I given up on Hisham a long time ago] but I sure as hell support Tuan Syed's suggestion:

FARA [Foreign Agent Registration Act] was passed in the US seven decades ago in order to inform the American government and the public on the identity of persons who are behind propaganda conducted by foreign-aided NGOs. Russia has passed similar legislation.

Folks, nothing new here? The Americans are munafiks. They passed their FARA Act 74 years ago in 1938.  It was the Americans, and NOT Vladimir Putin, who labelled foreign NGOs as "foreign agents".

So can Malaysia also have the same Law as the United States of Americky and Russia?

We need a FARA too. Tak payah pikir panjang - just photocopy the American Law, tukar nama sikit (katakanlah  "Akta Pendaftaran Agen Asing"  or APA) and get it passed in Parliament.

We cannot have the CIA, the MI6, the NSA, the Stiftungs and all the other satans freely funding their treachorous and traitorous activities in Malaysia through their "agents" of choice.

Wake up Hishamuddin. Do your job. Turn on your photo copy machine.
Read the rest of the superb blog post here.

Apa macam PM dan Kabinet Kerajaan Malaysia, don't you YABs and YBs think that it is time for FARA in Malaysia?

I think it is time, don't wait until there are chaos in the streets before you start thinking about FARA, don't worry about the freedom loving Americans, we are paying them a big compliment by copying them this time, I am sure they won't be offended.

Council to streamline court sentences? Jangan marahkan nyamuk kelambu dibakar!

Recently there have been a few decisions meted out by the Malaysian Courts on Statutory Rapes that have caused much concern by the Malaysian public read here and here.

The Gomen which is on overdrive listening mode at some grouses of the Malaysian public is looking to form a council to streamline court sentences, read here.

I think forming a council to oversee a Judge's decision making  is akin to 'marahkan nyamuk  kelambu dibakar'. While I do not agree on some of the decisions made by our Judges, I do understand that our Learned Judges are independent and they do not make decisions on their whims and fancies, they make decision on the Law made available to them.

What does a Judge in a Court of Law do?

The judge presides over court proceedings from the "bench," which is usually an elevated platform. The judge has five basic tasks:
  • to preside over the proceedings and see that order is maintained;
  • to determine whether any of the evidence that the parties want to use is illegal or improper;
  • in jury trials, to give the jury instructions about the law that applies to the case and the standards it must use in deciding the case before it begins its deliberations about the facts in the case;
  • in "bench" trials (cases tried before the judge, without a jury), to determine the facts and decide the case; and
  • to sentence convicted criminal defendants.

This here is part of our constitution:
Source here
I think there are enough safeguards to ensure fair sentencing/decision making as there are procedures to appeal a Judge's decision from the Magistrate Court - Session Court - High Court - Appeals Court right up to the Federal Court.

A Council to streamline sentencing is just so wrong and out of place in a Parliamentary Democracy consisting of the Executive, Legislative and the Judiciary...All must be independent.

Let the Judges continue to do the sentencing as they see fit based on the Laws available to them.

Suara Hati Dr. Mahathir, listen to him you ungrateful Malays!

Suara hati Dr. Mahathir

SAYA sedih.

Tetapi Tuhan Maha Kaya.

For those ungrateful Malays, I bet many of you have not seen this picture:

A smiling  Lee Kuan Yew wearing the Malay songkok  on the campaign trail  many years before he became the Prime Minister of independent Singapore

His charm worked like magic in Singapore with the Malays supporting his party, the PAP to become the dominant political party in Singapore. The rest is history. Read the following to find out some issues and outright racism facing the Malays in Singapore:

Without political power the Malays have nothing to protect them from the hegemony of the ruling Government of the day. What has happened to the political power of the Malays in Singapore now having being dispersed around the island nation since its independence in 1967? Nothing really, even the Istana at Kampung Gelam has been turned into a heritage centre, fit only for tourist attraction.

Singapore is a good lesson for the ungrateful Malays/Bumis of Malaysia.

DYMM Sultan Johor sudah bertitah, Menteri Pertahanan mesti jawab

Recently the DYMM Sultan of Johor who is also the Colonel-In-Chief of the Grup Gerak Khas (Special Service Group) delivered a stinging criticism at the Ministry of Defence on the purchase of military equipment for the Special forces, as reported by The Star:

Heads held high: Sultan Ibrahim walking past a line-up of soldiers at the Special Forces anniversary day celebrations at Kem Iskandar in Mersing. — Bernama
Picture taken from TheStar

"In his speech at the Special Forces anniversary day celebrations at Kem Iskandar here yesterday, the Sultan also reminded arms suppliers, including retired army personnel and generals, not to raise the prices of equipment supplied to the armed forces.

He said that arms suppliers should ensure the quality of the equipment supplied.

“There have been cases of army personnel, including generals, who become businessmen after retiring. I hope they supply equipment which meet the standards and specifications as I value the life of our soldiers, especially special forces personnel,” he said.

He also urged the Defence Ministry to control and scrutinise all purchases.

“Nobody should take advantage of the situation for personal gains when acquiring equipment for the Special Forces,” he said, adding that recently four Rapid Intervention Vehicles (RIV) were purchased for RM2.76mil or RM690,000 each.

During the event, Sultan Ibrahim displayed one of the RIV vehicles and another personal vehicle that he purchased for RM150,000.

“Which of these will be your choice?
I do not understand why government purchases involve exorbitant charges that do not make sense,” Sultan Ibrahim, who is also a Colonel in the Special Forces, said."

Read in full here.

I trust the Minister of Defence would act accordingly,  the quality of military equipment is a matter of life or death for our Soldiers and the difference in price for the RIV is a mind boggling RM540,000. The DYMM Sultan of Johor  have had Special Forces military training in America during his younger days and is Commander of the Johor Military Force (JMF) and Tuanku sure knows what he is talking about and he indeed owned a similar RIV.

So please Dato' Menteri Pertahanan do not give the standard answer that the matter will be investigated and that the price difference could be due to different specs. We want to know too. Thank You.

This is too much, stop the intimidations! Arrest Anwar Ibrahim's bodyguard!

It was alleged that Anwar Ibrahim's bodyguard had pointed his handgun at some unarmed Malaysians in Jasin, Melaka a couple of days ago. The story here:

Please see the video, it tell no lies, it clearly showed a man (presumably the bodyguard) pointing a handgun at someone or group of people. I do not know what the group of people were doing but I do believe that pointing a handgun at unarmed Malaysians no matter what the provocation are, is just excessive and too much to accept.

This Country have Laws and the way the bodyguard pointed the handgun at the unarmed crowd showed a reckless intimidating behavior which must be immediately curtailed by the Authorities.

Anwar Ibrahim's Bodyguard must be booked for criminal intimidation with a deadly weapon, such behavior have no place in this blessed country of ours.

The DAP never misses an opportunity to create an opportunity

I am writing this post inspired after reading Blogger Bigcat's rather witty posting here.

There was once this PYT(Pretty Young Thing) who jalan-jalan on Merdeka eve and got caught in the Janjibersih crowd near Dataran Merdeka and probably in the heat of the moment stepped on our PM's photo and was photographed for the world to see. It seemed that she's more intent on her pose to the camera rather than actually intentioned to step on the PM's photo. Whatever it is she sure got the attention she was probably looking for.

Well to cut a long story short, the PDRM issued a bulletin asking her to surrender to the nearest Balai Polis (read here). Poor PYT she only have her parents family and friends all worried about her(you see the DAP is keeping all mum about it at this stage). Many more must be wondering what she was thinking when she did what she did on the fateful Merdeka Eve night. I am sure her Mama and Papa never taught her to step on someone's photo, after all its taboo in all Asian culture you know.

Well she did what any fine citizen of this nation would do when the PDRM calls them in, unfortunately I think the PDRM is a bit harsh on the PYT, they handcuffed her, some may say that is procedures BUT alamak Mr Polisman I don't think the PYT will act violent or run away just look at her, is she the sort which would go violent? Naaah don't think so. After all Anwar Ibrahim also never get the handcuff treatment meh. Anyway with that kind of sweet face I am  quite certain our PM in his generousness will forgive her for that one act of which would certainly change her live forever. But anyway this is where the DAP comes in.....

Yup, true to their chauvinist nature this opportunity could not be missed. The DAP Chauvinists would not let this opportunity go away and the PYT is paraded for all to see behind a huge DAP rocket banner read the story here. Actually if she needs to apologise then she should request for an appointment to see the PM, hey who knows she might be rewarded, look at where that rude racist Namewee is now. Yup, the PM and the BN Gomen is very generous Gomen you know. Anyway she would now be some sort of a Pakatan celebrity now, after all she is only following the footsteps of the DAP  Penang Tokong from Melaka kan:

Really I think these people who joined the JanjiBersih crowd should read Dr. Mahathir's posting on MERDEKA to understand and appreciate our Merdeka more.
